Why We Host In-Person Client Events (And Why They Matter More Than Ever)

There's an old saying in business: "Your network is your net worth." But we've learned something important over the years: it's not just about having a network. It's about building genuine connections that can last a lifetime.

That's why we make it a priority to host in-person client events throughout the year. Yes, we could stick to conference rooms and quarterly reviews. But wealth management is about more than managing portfolios, it's about understanding the people behind those portfolios and creating opportunities for them to connect with each other.

Recently, we hosted two events that perfectly captured this philosophy: a lively afternoon at Top Golf in Rhode Island and an intimate "Around the World" whiskey tasting at Gordon's Tasting Room in Needham, MA. Both events brought together clients in relaxed, enjoyable settings where the focus wasn't on market volatility or estate planning (though those conversations naturally happened). Instead, it was about getting to know each other beyond the numbers.

More Than Just a Good Time

At the whiskey tasting, we traveled the globe without leaving Massachusetts, sampling everything from Redwood Empire Wheated Bourbon to Nikka from the Barrel, with stops in Scotland (Glenlivet Caribbean Reserve) and a beautiful Compass Box Crimson Cask aged in Sherry Barrels along the way. The conversations flowed as smoothly as the High West Rendezvous Rye, and we watched clients discover shared interests, swap business insights, and forge new friendships.

The real magic happens when a real estate developer connects with a business owner, or when a retired executive shares hard-won wisdom with someone earlier in their career. These organic connections often prove just as valuable as the financial guidance we provide.

Strengthening Every Relationship

These events strengthen our relationships with you, too. When we're swinging clubs at Top Golf or discussing the complex notes in Peerless Toasted Bourbon, we get to know you as whole people - your interests, your stories, your goals beyond the balance sheet. That deeper understanding makes us better advisors.

More importantly, these gatherings remind everyone that they're part of something bigger than a client list. You're part of a community of successful, interesting people who can support and inspire each other.

Because at the end of the day, wealth isn't just what you have, it's also who you know, and who you can count on. And that's worth raising a glass to.
